My Aunt Clara turned 101 on Christmas Eve. Although her hair is now white, she is still the beautiful woman pictured here. The last time I visited with her this summer, her elegant hands had just been manicured in a subtle shade of coral and she sat regally, fully enjoying her role as the matriarch of our extended family.
It is more than Clara's longevity that is an inspiration. She radiates peace and joy that extend to anyone who comes into contact with her. She also has an indomitable spirit, facing pain or sadness with strength and humor (a trait inherited from my equally long-lived grandmother).
